Sarah Jones Research Strategy Business Partner

Sarah supports the delivery of research strategy implementation plans, with a focus on grant capture.

Role

Sarah is the Research Strategy Business Partner for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, working with the Head of Research Development, the Faculty Research Office and Associate Dean for Research. She is based in Research and Innovation Services (RIS) supporting the University’s strategy and ambitions for research. His work includes:

  • supporting the delivery of the Faculty’s Research Strategy implementation plans
  • scanning research funding for opportunities relevant to the Faculty
  • connecting the Faculty with key colleagues in RIS to drive up success rates for grant bidding activity
  • embedding peer review of grants and other research activities

Sarah works collaboratively with the Research Development Managers in the team to identify and develop opportunities for research funding.

Career

Before coming to Bath Sarah was the Research Manager at a Charity called Revolving Doors Agency. She was also a Research Officer at the University of Oxford, looking at the practice of risk assessment tools in the youth criminal justice system.

Education

Sarah has degrees in Law and Criminology.
