Amber Snary Student Governor

Will undertake the responsibilities of members of governing bodies as set out in the CUC Guide for Members of Higher Education Governing Bodies in the UK.

Career

Amber Snary was born in Leicester, but later moved to Lincolnshire. She was educated at both Skegness Academy and Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Horncastle. In 2023, she graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. During her placement year, she undertook two different positions, both at the University of Cambridge. One at the Centre for Family Research under Professor Claire Hughes, and also the Embodied project within the Cambridge Babylab under Dr Hana D'Souza.

She is the Education Officer of the Students' Union for the 2023-24 academic year, with a portfolio of work based around accessibility, education, and facilitation.

While at the University, Amber undertook myriad roles across the Students' Union, Student Services, Widening Participation team, and Skills Centre. Personal highlights include Chair of the Disability Action Group, acting as both an Academic and Faculty Representative, and Co-Creation with both the Skills Centre and Widening Participation team. She is also a Bath Bursary recipient.

Amber has been a Trustee of the SU since June 2023, and also attends meetings on University finance.
