This standard describes the University's arrangements to identify and manage risks (health, safety and legislative risks) arising from handling, storage, processing and disposal of hazardous waste. It describes the roles and responsibilities of all involved in managing producing or working with hazardous waste.

We have also produced a Guidance document that sets out how waste should be managed in practice.

The standard and guidance were reviewed and agreed at UHSC June 2023. The next scheduled review for these documents is June 2026.
