This disruptive collaboration between Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bath College, Bath Spa University and University of Bath fuses science, arts, creativity, and technology. With business leaders co-designing the syllabus, it will accelerate learning and development, improve problem solving, systems thinking and workplace understanding.

FWD (formerly iSTART and pronounced ‘Forward’) will provide a talent pipeline of enthusiastic, entrepreneurial and work-ready people. FWD is a catalyst for economic recovery, boosting productivity, investing in affordable and scalable research projects it will deliver growth for business.

Dr Anna Walker, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Business Development) at Bath Spa University will be chairing a LIVETALK: The FWD Project: A Place to Find and Develop your Talent, at the Bath and North East Somerset Business Show on Wednesday 28 June, 10.15am. Joining her will be Andrea Kelly, Innovation Centre Manager, University of Bath; and Charles Wiffen, Head of Academic Portfolio Development at Bath Spa University; and Jayne Davis, Principal & Chief Executive at Bath College, to discuss the FWD Project. Business leaders, experts and companies will come to campus for the 2023 Bath & North East Somerset Business Show, which will be hosted by the University of Bath as part of its commitment to foster business innovation, enterprise and supporting local entrepreneurs.

The two-day event will feature exhibitions, workshops, forums and networking opportunities for the business community in the University’s new School of Management building on 27-28 June.

Topics covered include energy and business, the visitor economy, HR and people issues, climate, environment and sustainability, social value, and the digital world and cyberspace. The Show embraces all businesses from start-ups and micros through small, medium and large SMEs to corporates and multinationals.
