Dear Colleagues,

I want to let you know that Andrew Lee has decided to retire from his position as the Director of Computing Services.

Andrew joined the University in 2008 as Assistant Director, User Services, and four years later was promoted to Director. Over the last six years, under his leadership the department has grown and adapted to support the University’s strategy and ambitions. He is leaving it in good shape to continue to play a key role in its success.

As some of you may be aware, some time ago Andrew identified an opportunity for the University to embrace digital as an enabler of innovation and improved ways of working. His foresight led to the recent independent review of the technology, data and skills needed to take advantage of the opportunities of the connected world, helping us meet the new expectations of students, staff & partners.

We have all come to value Andrew’s expertise, dedication, hard work and commitment and his retirement is our loss. I am sure you would join me in wishing him well for the future.

Professor Steve Egan
Vice President (Implementation)
