Career

I joined Careers at the University in 2020, I was onboarded remotely and didn’t meet anyone on my team in person for six months, which seems like a distant memory now! Before joining the university, I worked in many roles and settings in careers guidance and pastoral support, including numerous schools, further education colleges, a sixth-form college, and many community settings. When my children were young, I also ran my own business for 6 years and was a volunteer committee member for a local charity. Before I trained as a Careers Consultant, I worked in several marketing roles, worked and travelled my way around the world, and volunteered as a mentor for young people.

I get great pleasure from helping students who are feeling lost, confused, and anxious to see a clearer way forward, and from helping to give them the self-belief that they can go for it and achieve what they’re aiming for. Out of work, I enjoy lots of things. I’ve recently learnt to surf, which is so much fun and I’m now obsessed! I also practice yoga and go running. I love nature too, so enjoy adventures in our camper van, walking and wild swimming.

I have a post graduate diploma in Careers Guidance, as well as a degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management
