The Institute for Policy Research (IPR) is pleased to welcome five senior policymakers, who, as part of the IPR Policy Fellowship Programme, will take part in a total of 21 meetings with 26 different researchers at the University next week.

Jo Wilce, Grants and Learning Manager for Friends Provident Foundation, visits under the umbrella Policy Fellowship Programme and will connect with colleagues from the IPR, the School of Management and the Departments for Economics, Health, Psychology and Social and Policy Sciences.

Three policymakers from the West of England Combined Authority will meet academics from the IPR, the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Mechanical Engineering and Psychology and the Institute of Coding.

Fionnuala Costello, Deputy Director for Energy Innovation Delivery at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, visits under the Net Zero Policy Fellowship stream. She will meet with researchers from the Departments of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, Mechanical Engineering and Psychology.

Amy Thompson, Head of Policy Programmes and Communications at the IPR, said: “We are pleased to be able to build these new connections between senior policymakers and our researchers at the University as part of the Policy Fellowship Programme. We look forward to welcoming the Fellows next week."

The IPR Policy Fellowship Programme offers senior policymakers the opportunity to explore their policy questions or challenges through a bespoke programme of tailored meetings with leading academics based at the University of Bath. In addition to the flagship Policy Fellowship Programme, there are specialist policy fellowship streams for Health, Net Zero and AI, drawing on the University’s core research strengths.
