We are pleased to announce our really exciting Festival of Doctoral Ideas taking place from 24 to 26 June 2024 at the University of Bath.

The event is sponsored by the Enhancing Research Culture Fund which has helped us to develop something at the scale. The Festival is open to the entire University community - PGRs, UGs, PGTs and staff - there's something for everyone.

We have an exciting line up, which includes:

  • two fantastic keynote talks on:
    • 'Richard III: the resolution of a 500-year-old cold case' by our very own Prof Turi King, Director of the Milner Centre, University of Bath
    • 'How to be a BRILLIANT Researcher' by Dr Andy Cope, AKA 'The Happiness Dr'
  • a panel session with Bath PhD Alumni sharing their career stories to date. We have those who have gone onto academic careers as well as others who are global CEOs, worked in industry and as entrepreneurs
  • a series of PGR workshops on topics from AI to Open Research, making an impact, problem-solving with LEGO®, and how poetry can help you communicate your research
  • over 30 presentations from PGR students sharing their research with the wider community
  • more than 50 posters to view in our poster competition (as well as a free lunch)
  • lots of free food and drink.

Please do take time out of your day to come and support this festival. Have a look at the full programme for more details and how to book onto your sessions.

We look forward to seeing you at the events.
