The University of Bath is pleased to announce that its first shipment of humanitarian assistance which left the university in April has safely arrived in Ukraine and has been delivered to Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (LTSNU). Bath signed a framework agreement with LTSNU in December 2022 as part of the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative. The institution lost most of its facilities, labs and equipment, books, and other resources due to the conflict and as a result of this initiative, Bath committed to sending much needed equipment to LTSNU to support its teaching and research, which has continued despite the impact of the conflict.

The shipment included audio-visual equipment to enable better communication between LTSNU’s dispersed campuses as well as laboratory equipment for chemical, physical and mathematical sciences. The efforts of the following University of Bath staff; Malcolm Holley and the Faculty of Science Technical Services Team, Rob Hyde from Digital, Data & Technology Group and Emma Milk from the International Relations Office, ensured that this support could be provided to LTSNU and are sincerely appreciated.

Professor, Olena Karaman, and the First Vice-Rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Vitalii Kurylo, expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided.
