About the course

Research Integrity training is now a requirement for receipt of grant funding from many funders.

To meet this need, UKRIO has worked with University College London to develop an online training course that provides a thorough introduction to research integrity. The course is applicable to all disciplines and provides a comprehensive grounding in research integrity for those new to the topic as well as an essential refresher for more experienced staff.

It is designed for anyone conducting or managing research in any discipline, including early career researchers (research students, post-doctorates and fellows), technicians, and more experienced staff who need refresher training.

Learning outcomes

The self-paced course is structured into three interactive modules, with support for further learning provided by easy access and signposting to relevant institutional and/or external guidance. By the end of the course, your learners will have a foundational understanding of:

  • What research integrity means and why it matters.
  • The approach to research integrity in the UK.
  • What it means to lead by example and how to build an environment with a good research integrity culture.

Modules

  1. Introduction to Research Integrity (Duration: 30 minutes)

  2. Research Integrity in the UK (Duration: 40 minutes)

  3. Leading by Example (Duration: 20 minutes)

Total time required for completion

This course should take around 90 minutes to complete. This may vary depending on the time spent on the reflection questions.
