Join the GW4 Alliance and University of Bath colleagues on 12 March 2024, 13:00 to 15:00 for an informative and engaging presentation, lunch and networking session.

GW4 offers a wide range of funding, support, training and career development opportunities for staff, researchers and PGRs.

The event will be an opportunity to:

  • hear from Professor Sarah Hainsworth, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise), Dr Anneke Lubben, Director of Research Infrastructure and Facilities, and Professor Tim Mays, Director of the UK-HyRES and GW-Shift Hydrogen Research Programmes
  • meet the GW4 Alliance Director, Dr Joanna Jenkinson MBE to learn more about our strategic priorities, vision, challenges and opportunities
  • listen to the experiences of University of Bath colleagues who have directly benefited from GW4’s programmes of work, funding and support
  • network with GW4 staff members and ask questions about the support we can offer to you or your core audience groups
  • learn how GW4 could help support your research secure external funding and hear about GW4’s recent external funding wins – including £2.5 million from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to develop a hydrogen supercluster in South West England and South Wales (led by Professor Tim Mays at Bath, Co-led by Exeter), and £4.6 million from AHRC to retrofit Net Zero homes (led by Bath and Cardiff)
  • apply for funding to develop new or existing research and innovation communities and other activities (up to £20K for research projects and £5K development awards)
  • access expertise and equipment across the GW4 Alliance via our facilities database, including state-of-the-art facilities
  • discover how to access GW4 archives and special collections across the Alliance

The Roadshow will be an opportunity for Research Development staff to learn more about this process, and some of the successful outcomes that we have had in this area
