Two University of Bath technicians, Susanna Martin & Nathan Taylor have been selected as finalists in the 2023 Papin Prizes, a series of awards which reward and recognise university technicians across the UK and Ireland who have demonstrated excellent practice.
Susanna and Nathan are highly valued members of the Department of Psychology and have been nominated due to their willingness to go above and beyond their role working to ensure that the department has as much support as possible.
Their expertise in a range of platforms and resources has proved invaluable, supporting the development of surveys for large, externally funded grant projects that have required knowledge beyond that of the students and staff working on these surveys.
Susanna and Nathan are always willing to support the students one-to-one, troubleshoot issues and advise both students and staff, and they have been described by colleagues as the capstone that holds together studies and experiments within the department.
On multiple occasions they have been nominated by our students and staff for awards and have received internal awards from the university recognising their excellence, however it is a testament to them to have now been recognised at a national level for their work.
Regardless of if they win, being shortlisted as one of the top 7 ‘Teams’ demonstrates that their contribution is amongst the best of the best in the UK, and we are very lucky to have them as part of the University of Bath.
