John Troyer SWC Senior lecturer in Social and Policy Sciences

Staff Wellbeing Champion

Role

I am the former Director of the Centre for Death and Society in the Department of Social and Policy Sciences (SPS). I am also a Senior Lecturer in SPS and the Athena Swan lead/ Chair of the Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee for the Department.

Wellbeing Statement

I want all staff members at the University of Bath to know they are not alone when someone they care about dies and they are grieving that death. You do not need to feel isolated and alone in your grief. Any staff member who needs to talk about death, dying, loss, grief, bereavement - any of it, should know I am here to listen and offer support. The Staff Loss and Grief Network is an extremely important project for me and I want everyone who needs it to join it.

Interests

I'm an avid bicycle commuter (especially from Bristol to Bath) and really support biking initiatives. And I come from a theatre background, so I always enjoy working on live art performances and projects.
