We study ways to reduce injuries in sport. These key areas provide much of our focus:
- sport injury surveillance to identify the patterns and risk factors of injury
- development and evaluation of the efficacy of injury prevention strategies
- investigation and implementation of injury prevention in the real world
We apply epidemiology, biomechanics, physiology and psychology to the study of sports injuries to both understand the risk of getting injured in sport, and develop ways to reduce this risk. All with a view to ensuring people can apply injury reduction approaches in the real world.
