University achieves Race Equality Charter Bronze award

The University is committed to the aims and principles of the Race Equality Charter to inspire cultural and procedural changes that will create a real difference for our Black, Asian, and minority ethnic staff and students.
We are delighted to announce that the University of Bath has been awarded the Race Equality Charter (REC) Bronze award by Advance HE.
The Race Equality Charter is a national scheme aimed at improving the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students.
REC USAT is the group of people working to identify and address the barriers facing Black, Asian, and minority ethnic staff and students.

October marks Black History Month where teams across University host a range of activities on the 2025 theme of 'Standing Firm in Power and Pride'.
The reports were co-sponsored by Professor Phil Taylor (Vice Chancellor).
In September 2025, a team led by Dr Teslim Bukoye delivered on accreditation, and the University received the Race Equality Charter Bronze Award from AdvanceHE. The REC team, which includes a diverse range of academics and professional services staff, as well as student representation, is now focusing on implementation of its action plan.
