Please note that these IT training courses are for University of Bath staff and are not available to members of the general public or external organisations. Postgraduate students from the University of Bath can attend our sessions for a fee of £5.00 per one and a half hour session.
Microsoft Project 2010
Microsoft Project 2010 (MS Project) is available to all staff and students and is licensed under the Microsoft "Campus Agreement", further information on accessing the software can be found here

Pre requisites: This course assumes you have a general understanding of personal computers, the Windows operating system environment and are familiar with using other Office 2010 applications
Mode of Delivery: Self-paced (download to your PC or self paced workshop run on request)
Course Description:
At the end of this course you will be able to:- Start Microsoft Project and work with it's key screen features
- Create a new project file
- Understand key project management concepts
- Enter and work with tasks in a project
- Enter and work with durations for tasks
- Enter and work with task relationships
- Create and work with resource pools
- Understand resource assignment concepts
- Assign resources to tasks
- Level over allocated resources in a project
- Assign materials to tasks
- Enter a wide range of costs into a project
- Set constraints and deadlines in a project
- Monitor and track a project
- Print information from a project.
Nominal Duration: 15hours You work at your own pace and so, may finish earlier than the alloted time.
Target Audience: Staff and Post Graduates who wish to learn how to use Microsoft Project 2010

Self Paced Workshop: Each session is a three hour self-paced workshop held in the IT Training Suite, however you are welcome to leave at anytime during the 3 hours if you prefer to do more shorter sessions.
During the session you will be provided with a copy of the workbook to use, however if you would prefer your own copy you can download one from the link above.
To complete all modules takes around 15 hours so you will need to attend more than one session. The course is completely flexible so can be started at any point throughout the year.
