  • Interpret and analyse experimental data
  • Report on practical work by presenting reasoned and coherent arguments and analyses.



Synopsis: You will develop research skills that you will use throughout your academic studies and beyond. Through practice in project-based approaches you will become familiar with basic laboratory techniques, and the practical application of these in the molecular biosciences.

Content: This unit will include: Learning basic laboratory skills (such as accurate pipetting, use of spectrophotometers, the handling of microorganisms safely and efficiently) Routine molecular techniques including PCR and electrophoresis, protein purification and characterisation Pre-lab Moodle quizzes to explain content
