Wellbeing and human development
This theme focuses on wellbeing as an encompassing, holistic concept centred on what is positive and desirable that combines objective assessments of people's lives with their subjective accounts of how they are doing and feeling. Human development is a wellbeing-centred vision of development providing an alternative to an economistic understanding of development, focusing on the policies and processes that give opportunities for people to live well.
