Why Chemistry at Bath?
Programme flexibility
Regardless of the Chemistry programme you apply to, you can change to another Chemistry programme when you start. It's also possible to switch from one programme to another, for example, at the end of Year 1, if you have taken the Management option you may switch from Chemistry to Chemistry with Management.
Study Year Abroad and Industrial Placement option
You may spend your third year at a university abroad or on an industrial placement with a prestigious employer, comprehensively supported before and throughout the year.
Our outstanding reputation for placements and training means that around 60% of our students choose this option.
State-of-the-art laboratories
Our teaching laboratories were built with the student’s experience in mind, providing a pleasant, light and airy environment. Demonstrators are always on hand to help, students have their own lockers and equipment, and lab coats are free!
We have three, well equipped, teaching laboratories:
- Synthetic laboratory for organic and inorganic chemistry
- Analytical laboratory for physical chemistry
- Computional chemistry laboratory
