Undergraduate study
Programmes of Undergraduate Study:
BA (Hons) Childhood, Youth and Education Studies
The BA in Childhood, Youth and Education Studies is a social science degree that bridges the disciplines of psychology and education. It explores how young children and adolescents learn and develop in contemporary British Society and across the world.
BA (Hons) Coach Education and Sports Development
(from September 2012 this programme will be delivered under the new name of BA (Hons) Sport & Social Sciences)
The BA (Hons) in Coach Education and Sports Development capitalises upon the University of Bath's status as the English Institute of Sport for the South West, its excellent sports facilities and the elite squad of athletes and coaches which comprise Team Bath. This is a three year course with an option of a fourth year to enable a year of study abroad or a professional placement.
FdSc Sport (Sports Performance)
The Foundation Degree in Sports Performance is aimed at sportsmen and sportswomen who may otherwise miss out on higher education because they choose, or have chosen, to focus on achieving their sporting goals.
Foundation Degrees are vocational qualifications that have been designed to replace the Higher National Diplomas. Study for the FdSc involves two years of full-time study. The FdSc is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge that are desired by employers.
BSc (Hons) Sport (Sports Performance)
The BSc top-up year is designed to complement the FdSc in Sport (Sports Performance). Students successfully completing the FdSc with an average of 55% or above will have the opportunity to acheive an Honours degree with this one year top-up programme.
Generally Available Units
The Department also teaches an undergraduate programme of units available to University of Bath students from other disciplines.
