A simple guide outlining the purpose of each library subject floor and what services and resources can be found there.

You can view an PDF file for each Library floor using the links shown below. Alternatively, you can view our interactive 3D floorplans which will allow you to view the locations of services, collections and study spaces across the Library.

Level 1: Study Space
Individual bookable study spaces, PC Training room, research Safepod, Level 1 Group Study room.

Level 2: Entrance level
The Reader Services Desk, Inter-library Loans Office, Periodicals Office and Copy and Print department are all on this floor. You will also find the Audio-Visual and Computing Services helpdesks, DVDs, networked computers, the Assistive Technology room and Library Catalogue terminals.

Level 3: Engineering & Design with Literature
Books and periodicals covering architecture and design; civil, mechanical, electrical, electronic and chemical engineering; materials science; history of art; decorative and graphical arts; foreign and English literature. Networked computers and Library Catalogue terminals. The whole floor is a quiet study area.

Level 4: Science, Medicine and Sport
Books and periodicals covering agriculture, biological sciences, chemistry, food science, general science, geosciences, physics, astronomy, mathematical sciences, computing, pharmacy, pharmacology, medical sciences, sport and exercise science. Networked computers and Library Catalogue terminals. The whole floor is a quiet study area.

Level 5: Social Sciences, Management & Languages
Books and periodicals covering economics, education, film studies, social sciences, history, languages, law, management, music, psychology, politics, religion, social policy and sociology. Networked computers and Library Catalogue terminals. The whole floor is a quiet study area.
