Postgraduate taught study
Our postgraduate taught programmes will sharpen your technical skills and teach you about engineering in a business context.
They include subject-specific units and business and group orientated work as well as detailed technical projects that are carried out under individual supervision.
We offer one-year, full-time MSc programmes in:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Automotive Engineering
- Engineering Design
- Innovation and Technology Management (delivered jointly with the School of Management)
We also offer the PG Cert Orthopaedic Engineering - Joint Replacement.
Further detail on programme content can be found in the programme and unit catalogues.
The first semester of our programmes is designed to broaden your knowledge through lectures, seminars and coursework.
The focus of the second semester is on engineering within a business environment. You will work as a group to solve a design problem, reflecting the way industrial design teams operate in the real world.
In the final semester you will carry out an individual project at one of our research centres.
Our MSc graduates work all over the world in various industries with their skills being extremely valuable in both technical and business contexts.
We also actively encourage the best of our MSc students to continue their studies with us to PhD level.
