Building Research Park

Research Park

An open-to-the-elements facility offering a platform for research into construction materials and systems.

What do we do?

Our facilities allow researchers and construction professionals from across the world to develop and to explore innovative building materials and constructive systems.

Part of the BRE CICM centre, our research aims to study properties of low carbon, low impact construction materials that will make a real difference to the future of construction, both in the UK and worldwide.

Dr Mike Lawrence discusses projects being carried out at the Building Research Park's research facility, the HIVE.

The HIVE is a facility designed to support research into construction materials and is the first building project being developed at the Building Research Park.

This Engineering and Physical Sciences Council (EPSRC) funded project (EP/K04039/1 and EP/L005689/1) is being led by Professor David Coley from the BRE Centre for Innovative Construction Materials in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering.
