We just wanted to highlight that we have brought back use of our individual practice rooms for staff over the summer period.

The process outlined below is for individual/personal use of our practice spaces, if you wish to book ANY room in The Edge for any type of work-related booking visit The Edge webpage for more information.

How do I book for individual/personal use?

Step-by-step information can be found on our Individual Practice page of the SU Website and outlined below:

  1. Sign up for just £20 to the 24/25 Staff Summer Edge Membership. This Edge Membership allows you to book our individual practice rooms throughout the summer period. It is open to all current staff members. Membership will last for the duration of the summer and will expire on 31/08/2025.

  3. Wait 24 hours!
  4. Visit our Edge room booking portal Agora
  5. Sign up for an Agora account with your @bath.ac.uk email address. The Edge door system is linked to your library card so you will only be able to access your booked room if your account is created with your @bath.ac.uk email address.
  6. Once logged into Agora, use the ‘What’s On’ page to filter by date and room to check availability of your desired space. Individual bookings can be made between 2 hours and 7 days in advance of your intended booking.
  7. Once you can see the availability, use the ‘New Booking’ page to book ‘Individual Member Practice’ to search for the available slot and make your booking.
  8. Your booking description should be 'STAFF' followed your username (STAFF abc123), anything else will not allow the door system to recognise your booking.
  9. Use the ‘My Bookings’ page to view and/or cancel your bookings.
  10. Agora links to the Edge building door system via your library card. Once your booking slot has started, use your library card to gain access to the room.

The below rooms are also bookable, however due to the Conferences & Events takeover of The Edge building between 16 June to 31 August, just like work-related bookings in these spaces, there are some additional terms & conditions: Bookings made in these spaces may be cancelled if required by Conferences & Events. If this is the case you will be notified at least 48 hours in advance and will be required to re-book yourself on another day.

What are the rules?

  • Follow the ‘How do I book?’ instructions carefully for a problem-free process
  • Individual bookings are NOT to be used for meetings, work-related bookings or events
  • There is a strict maximum of 2 hours per day, up to 4 hours total per week for individual staff members. Bookings can be made between 2 hours and 1 week in advance
  • Please be respectful of the spaces and use the spaces in accordance with our terms and conditions, which can be found in the confirmation email you will receive when you book a room
  • Failure to comply with these rules will result in your access being revoked.
