The University of Bath is in the top 5 of UK universities according to the ‘Complete University Guide’ (CUG) 2024, which is released today, Wednesday 7 June.
This year’s 5th place ranking – with Bath behind only Cambridge, Oxford, LSE and St Andrews – marks a jump of three places since the CUG was last published 12 months ago.
It is the fifth year in a row that Bath has been in the top 10. And for the eighth year running, it is the number one University in the South West.
This year’s success comes off the back of the University being named ‘University of the Year’ by The Times and The Sunday Times in 2023. Read more about the story behind the award.
The University is also in the top 10 in The Times and The Sunday Times ‘Good University Guide 2023’ (ranked 8th), The Guardian ‘University Guide 2023’ (ranked 7th) and the Times Higher Education ‘Table of Tables’ 2022 (ranked 9th). Read more about our rankings and reputation.
Commenting on the achievement, Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Ian White said: “This year’s ranking in the ‘Complete University Guide’ is a tremendous achievement for the University of Bath community. It really highlights the progress we have made in recent years to be to be ranked so clearly as one of the UK’s leading institutions for education, student experience and research.
“Following other recent accolades, most notably being awarded ‘University of the Year’ by The Times and The Sunday Times in 2023, the latest ranking from the ‘Complete University Guide’ reflects the ambitious vision of our University strategy.
“It is also testament to the tremendous hard work from so many people from across our community, including staff, students, alumni and supporters, who strive for continual improvements and to make the University the best it can be. I could not be more proud of their dedication to our mission, particularly in light of great challenges such as the pandemic, which we have all faced. Once again, my sincere thanks and congratulations to all of them.”
Professor Amanda Chetwynd, Chair of the Complete University Guide Advisory Board, said: “Congratulations to the University of Bath for achieving a top position in this year’s Complete University Guide regional rankings. The rankings show just how high the standards are among the South West top universities.”
