At the beginning of the Easter vacation, Natural Sciences students and staff attended the 6th annual Society of Natural Sciences student conference at University College London. Hannah Coxhead and Alisha Godhania were selected to present their research as posters and were busy throughout the sessions talking to others interested in their results.

Hannah commented: "I really enjoyed the conference and range of topics people were talking about from chickens being impacted by heatwaves to the development of hydrogels. I always forget how diverse the Natural Sciences programme is across different universities! It was also great to share some research with lots of people asking questions and showing interest in the research I was presenting. I enjoyed meeting other students and learning about the projects they have been involved in, some of which I have since connected with on LinkedIn. Overall, a great experience and day out at UCL, meeting a community of like-minded natural scientists and finding out more about the society."

Director of Teaching Dr Susan Crennell, who attended along with Senior Tutor Dr Steve Flower, said: "It was very enjoyable to attend the first in-person Society for Natural Sciences student conference for a few years, to see Natural Sciences students from across the country coming together and showing such interest in each other's research and degree programmes"
