The University is committed to ensuring that our research meets the highest standards of research governance. We are looking to recruit to 3 vacancies which have arisen within the Health & Social Care (H&SC) Oversight Group.
Each position is available for 36 months in the first instance and attracts 41 hours in the workload allocation model. You can apply for the roles here.
The H&SC Oversight Group provides strategic direction, oversight, and assurance for the University’s health and social care research activities. The Group oversees all institutional research activity involving: - Health and social care interventions, services, or delivery - Human participants engaging in health-related research - Research requiring compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., Human Tissue Act; UK Framework for Research in Health and Social Care) - Processes and systems that support the University acting as Research Sponsor or Host for health and social care studies
What are we looking for?
Members of our H&SC Oversight Group are passionate about health-related research, with extensive experience of their own and are keen to implement robust structures and support other researchers (staff and students) in their work. The roles which we are currently recruiting for are:

Who can join the committee?
If you are a University of Bath academic member of staff we would be interested to hear from you, particularly if you have experience as Chief Investigator on health-related studies. You will be supported with access to training. Membership of each committee has been work loaded as 41hrs/academic year.
What is expected from you?
Members work as part of a group and use their skills and personal experience to reach decisions about applications. Prior to the meeting you will be expected to read the meeting papers electronically. The term of office will be for 3 years in the first instance. Meetings will be held (both in-person and online) four times a year for around 2.5 hours. Maternity/sabbatical cover will be managed on a fixed term basis.
