Round 12 of the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship (FLF) scheme will open in February next year. The University of Bath is limited to four applications for this scheme. There will be a University process to select applicants. Only applicants selected via this process will be able to submit to the UKRI FLF scheme.

University 3-stage process

Stage 1: Department selection

  • 18 September: Candidates submit Bath online Expression of Interest (EoI) and two-page CV
  • 2 October: Each department selects one to two candidate(s) to move on to stage two

Stage 2: Faculty/School selection

  • October - November: Outline and pitch development support from RIS
  • 2 November: Candidates submit Bath outline proposal via online form
  • November (date tbc): Faculty/School pitching panels (full outline and pitch presentation)
  • November (date tbc): Each Faculty/School panel selects a maximum of two candidates to move on to stage three

Stage 3: University selection

  • December (date tbc): University panel meeting (full outline and recorded pitch presentation)
  • December (date tbc): Panel selects max 4 applicants to develop proposal and submit to UKRI FLF scheme
  • January-June: RIS proposal development support for 4 selected applicants

How to apply

If you are interested in being considered as one of Bath’s applicants to this scheme, the following must be done by 4pm 18 September:

The stage one EoI will be assessed by your department using the following criteria:

  • Research and innovation excellence
  • Applicant track record

Candidates selected by their departments will then move on to the next stage of the process (Faculty selection).
