On Wednesday 25 February 2026 from 1.30 to 2.30pm in 4W 1.2, our community will come together for the Green Impact Showcase, an exciting event where staff will share real case studies, practical ideas and inspiring examples of sustainability in action across campus created through Green Impact and beyond.
Whether you are already championing sustainability in your area or simply curious about where to begin, the Showcase is your opportunity to connect, learn and be inspired. Discover case studies from Green Impact teams across the University, hear directly from participants about what they’ve achieved, and see how their practical actions are creating meaningful change.
By signing up to attend, you will:
- celebrate staff who are turning ambition into action
- connect with others championing sustainability and join our growing community of changemakers
- discover ideas you can apply in your own role and personal lives
- feel inspired and develop an understanding of how to take action for sustainability across the University
A year of collective action
The Showcase highlights the incredible momentum built through Green Impact - our staff engagement and behaviour change programme that supports teams to take practical, measurable sustainability action within their departments.
This academic year so far:
- over 400 colleagues have taken part
- 40 active teams formed across the University
- 48% of departments are now engaged
- 80 students have pledged to be auditors
Through Green Impact’s structured framework of evidence-based actions, teams are embedding sustainability into everyday practice - from litter picks and resource efficiency to sustainable procurement, learning how to embed sustainability into teaching and sustainability education. Every action logged contributes to the University’s wider sustainability goals.
A growing community of changemakers
Green Impact is about empowerment. It gives staff the tools, structure and support to turn values into visible change.
Already, 408 staff members and 23 students are:
- developing sustainability knowledge and skills
- inspiring colleagues and peers
- turning intention into measurable impact
The Showcase is your chance to meet these changemakers, learn from their experiences and explore how sustainability can connect to your own role, whatever area you work in. There are actions within Green Impact that apply to every area of the University.
Be part of what happens next
You can take the next step by joining Green Impact, either by creating a new team or joining an existing one.
