The Chair of Council is responsible for leadership of the University Council as the governing body of the institution and ultimately to its stakeholders for its effectiveness.
Our current Chair of Council, Thomas Sheppard, has been in the role since 2014 and has announced that he is stepping down from the role. We are now starting the process of searching for a new Chair of Council and are very keen to hear views from a wide range of interested parties to inform this recruitment process.
The current job description for this role is at here which should give you some ideas of the skills needed and the challenges faced in this role. This consultation will run until 3 September 2018. We will collate the responses and produce a summary report which will inform the recruitment process.
