The Committee was impressed with the outstanding academic results James had achieved throughout his degree programme, achieving a first-class mark in 30 out of the 32 units completed to date. His contribution to the academic reputation of the University was also acknowledged, particularly his collaborative research work with both the Ministry of Defence and Modini Ltd and his work as a part-time research assistant for these organisations, spearheading experimental testing and delivering excellent results to the organisations involved.

James’ involvement in different initiatives at the University was recognised, including representing the University in kickboxing, acting as propulsion engineer for The Mach Initiative competition team and volunteering to co-supervise two 3rd year GBDP student groups this year.

James has displayed both exceptional academic strength and a breadth of campus and community involvement that is a great credit to himself and the University.
