The Welsh Government has announced a national firebreak in the country, starting from 6pm on Friday 23 October and ending on Monday 9 November.

We are aware that a number of our students live in Wales and commute to study here in Bath.

Universities in Wales will continue to provide a blend of in-person and online learning.

If you live in Wales and are able to travel safely to Bath for in-person teaching, study or research purposes, we would encourage you to continue doing so, in line with Government advice. However, if there are individual circumstances which mean this is not possible, then please speak to your personal tutor or supervisor.

For those students who are currently living in Bath but who have family homes or another home address in Wales, the Welsh Government has said: “You should only move between your term time address and your home address if absolutely necessary, for example for work, to provide or receive care or because of concerns about your wellbeing. You should not return home for a ‘visit’ during this period. You should not travel home if you have been asked to self-isolate or have Covid-19 symptoms.”

More information is available on the Welsh Government’s website.
