The History, Conservation and Management Cluster at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering is pleased to welcome Dr Amanda Ramón from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain, who is joining the Department as a Visiting Lecturer.
During her visit, Amanda will collaborate on ReDiW–Bridge: Reusable Digital Workflows for Heritage Bridge Documentation, Conservation, and Presentation, a research project funded through the UKRI (UK Research and Innovation) Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science (RICHeS) programme and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
Sharing expertise in heritage conservation
ReDiW–Bridge aims to develop reusable digital workflows to support the documentation, conservation and presentation of historic bridges. Bringing together expertise in structural engineering, heritage conservation and digital documentation, the project explores how digital technologies and data-driven approaches can facilitate the recording, interpretation and long-term management of historic bridge structures.
Amanda's visit provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the University of Bath and the Universitat Politècnica de València, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and expertise in heritage science, digital documentation and structural conservation. The collaboration also supports the development of research approaches that can be adapted to other heritage bridges and contribute to their sustainable conservation. The Cluster warmly welcomes her to the University of Bath and looks forward to a productive collaboration through ReDiW–Bridge and future research opportunities.
