As we come to the end of Semester 2, we want to take a moment to recognise what has been a full and successful year for our University of Bath community.

Recognising your successes

To all our students, congratulations on reaching this point in the academic year. Whether you’ve just completed your first year, are preparing for a placement or study abroad, or getting ready to graduate, we hope you are incredibly proud of all you’ve achieved.

This year has seen so many examples of student success - from academic and personal development, to engagement in initiatives such as the Bath Award and wider student-led activity.

To our graduating students, thank you for the part you’ve played in shaping our community. We wish you every success in your next steps and hope you take with you the friendships, skills and experiences you’ve built during your time here.

A heartfelt thank you to our staff

We would also like to thank colleagues across the University for their continued dedication and care. Your expertise and commitment play a vital role in supporting our students and strengthening our community.

Looking ahead

This year, we’ve continued to develop the opportunities available to you - from enhanced careers and employability support, to initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, safety and community.

We're excited for what the future holds, and for those returning to Bath, we look forward to welcoming you back in the autumn.

Support over the summer

Please remember that support remains available throughout the summer:

  • Student Support – including wellbeing, mental health, disability and financial support, with 24/7 help available through Be Well – Talk Now
  • Skills Centre – writing support, maths and statistics help, and guidance for dissertations and projects
  • Library Services – access to digital resources and study support
  • Summer at Bath – events and activities if you're staying here over June, July and August.

If you’re a finalist considering your next steps, a range of careers support continues to be available, including tailored events and one-to-one guidance to help you plan for the future.

To everyone in our community, thank you. We encourage you to take time over the summer to rest and recharge. This is an important opportunity to reflect on everything you’ve achieved and to prepare for the next stage of your journey.

Warmest wishes,
Professor Cassie Wilson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience)
Professor Julian Chaudhuri, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)
