Enterprise Day is an annual opportunity for our students, researchers, entrepreneurs, alumni and local business community to celebrate our entrepreneurial success and develop new enterprises.

The doors open at 1.00pm on 19 March for registration in the East Building atrium. An opportunity for networking is available at the Santander sponsored Business Fair which is exhibiting throughout the afternoon to showcase our wide range of university startups.

Professor Jonathan Knight, Vice-President Enterprise, will give the welcome address at 1.30pm, following a keynote speech from an external guest.

From 2.15pm until 2.30pm, the hugely popular Pitch Your Idea session will take place for quickfire one-minute presentations for students to soundboard their new enterprise ideas.

An option of Masterclasses will be available from 2.30pm until 3.15pm with topics including:

  • The dos and don’ts of Intellectual Property
  • Innovate UK Innovation Canvas on ways to engage with the Business Partnerships and Knowledge Exchange team in Research and Impact Services (RIS)
  • My Entrepreneurial Journey with Alumni Innovation Award winners
  • QantX - Pitching for funds for your business from start-up to global domination

A refreshment break from 3.15pm to 4.30pm provides a further chance for networking at the Santander Startup Business Fair.

From 4.30pm to 5.00pm there will be a talk from Greg Wade, Head of Innovation Policy at Universities UK (UUK) on their newly launched 'Unis start up the UK' campaign. This showcases the broad and dynamic mix of start-ups and spin-outs launched by students, academic staff, graduates or supported by universities. A campaign toolkit is available for university use.

A second series of Masterclasses will also be available from 5.15pm- 6pm with topics including:

  • Digital Marketing from guests Google
  • Founders supported through the University of Bath Spinout Club telling their entrepreneurial story
  • NHS-themed class with entrepreneurial academics who have collaborated with the NHS
  • From Dorm Room to Board Room with Bath Entrepreneurs

Enterprise Day will conclude at 6pm with closing remarks from Professor Jonathan Knight followed by a drinks reception.
