This year marked the launch of Green Impact in our organisation- a toolkit designed to make sustainability practical, achievable, and inclusive for every member taking part. The idea was simple: break the University's sustainability goals into manageable actions, and empower staff to take part in ways that suit their roles, schedules, and capacity. We worked with SOS-UK, a student-led charity to create an online toolkit for staff that reflect our climate action principals.

The results? Encouraging, energising, and a sign that we're heading in the right direction.

In 2024/25, the first year of Green Impact saw:

  • 25 teams taking part
  • 21 departments represented
  • 190 staff actively involved

Recognition was given to teams through a tiered awards system based on points after submission. 40 student auditors volunteered their time to verify the evidence teams had provided. We are celebrating:

Building a culture of shared sustainability

Green Impact is building a culture where sustainability is part of the everyday, visible in how we work together and make decisions. The toolkit encourages collaboration and innovation, giving everyone the opportunity to embed sustainability and thrive as changemakers. As we look ahead to the next year, we’re excited to grow this momentum. With more teams, more ideas, and more support, we’re building a future where sustainability is truly shared.
