An internal Bath Expression of Interest (EoI) will need to be completed by anyone planning to submit a full application to either of these funding calls.

If you are planning to apply to the MRC or BBSRC Equipment calls, please:

  1. Read the funding opportunity guidance thoroughly.
  2. Discuss your potential application with your Head of Department and get their approval.
  3. Email Laura Wisby to register your interest by 26 June: resdev@bath.ac.uk.
  4. Complete the online EoI form by 1pm on 08 July.

A University Panel will assess the EoIs and select applications that can be developed and submitted to MRC or BBSRC. Panel membership details will be provided to potential applicants after the 08 July EoI deadline.

Please note: only applications that have gone through the Bath internal process and have been selected will be able to submit a full application to the funder.

Funder deadlines

For selected applications, the MRC Equip deadline will be 5 November, and the BBSRC ALERT anticipated deadline is December. The university timelines and internal deadlines will apply as standard.

There will be some proposal development support provided to selected applications, however, the writing and preparation of the application will take a considerable amount of work from the Project Lead and Co-Leads. If you cannot commit to this timeframe for preparation and submission of the full grant application, please do not submit an EoI this round and instead consider applying to a future round.
