University of Bath students who speak French, German, or Spanish are encouraged to apply for the Skills Centre’s Languages Insights Internship Programme, with 20 paid internship opportunities available for the coming academic year.

The programme gives students the opportunity to work in local primary and secondary schools, supporting pupils with their language learning while gaining valuable professional experience in an educational setting.

Develop skills that employers value

As well as developing their language skills, interns can build experience in communication, leadership, teamwork and working with young people. The programme is an opportunity to make a positive contribution to the local community while gaining experience that can strengthen future job and postgraduate applications.

The internship is open to students who already speak French, German or Spanish and are interested in sharing their enthusiasm for languages with the next generation of learners.

What are the benefits?

Students who take part can benefit from:

  • experience working in a school environment
  • development of communication and leadership skills
  • increased confidence in using their language skills
  • valuable employability experience to evidence in applications and interviews
  • the opportunity to inspire young people to engage with language learning

The Bath Award

All students who are registered for the Bath Award and complete a Languages Insights internship can use their internship hours towards the extra-curricular element of the Bath Award.
