Diagnosing health conditions, forecasting weather, designing aeroplanes: these are all possible now or in the near future thanks to machine learning, but would you trust the results? Maths4DL aims to explain deep learning theory and make it trustworthy.

On Wednesday 13 November 2024, staff from the Maths for Deep Learning (M4DL) and the Institute for Mathematical Innovation (IMI) will be participating the UK Maths Week Parliamentary Expo taking place at the House of Commons, London.

The event will showcase a series of demonstrations on how mathematics is used in machine learning and AI. Topics covered will include: using AI to forecast the weather; detecting fake images; and keeping your data private. The team will show that maths is at the heart of all of AI, and can help answer big questions about its trustworthiness and future potential.
