Dear colleagues,
As we end our week and look forward to a bank holiday weekend, I do hope you get the rest and recuperation you so richly deserve. Thank you all so much for your outstanding work across the University, from delivering online teaching and assessments, continuing research wherever possible, supporting our students, recruiting our new intake, making preparations for next year and producing PPE for local health workers.
Our contributions as a University community throughout the last few months have not gone unnoticed and I have had very many positive comments about our response from people at a local and national level.
One particularly lovely example is this letter from Annie Maw, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Somerset, who has written to express her gratitude to us. I am deeply thankful to her for taking the time to write to our community. I thought sharing these kind words with you would be a fitting end to another busy week.
