Professor Peter Lambert, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning & Teaching), commented:

Although we recognise we haven’t matched our outstanding performance of recent years in the NSS league tables, we still pride ourselves on providing our students with the best possible rounded university experience, as recognised in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey 2018. However, we accept there is always room for improvement and we will focus on those areas where it is needed.

We continue to invest heavily in our campus and facilities such as our Bath city centre hub – the Virgil Building – as well as a £3.5 million gym development, to ensure it meets and exceeds the very high expectations our students rightly have. We are committed to ensuring our students leave Bath having received a top class education and an experience they will cherish for the rest of their lives and will be doing our utmost to ensure this is the case.

In the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey 2018 Bath was ranked in the top four nationally for student experience as well as the second safest campus in the UK. Bath was also named Sports University of the Year in the influential The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018.
