If you work across several projects or teams, it can be hard to see everything in one place. Microsoft Planner gives your team a shared space to create tasks, assign them and track progress, so everyone can see who is doing what, and by when.
Planner is part of the University's Microsoft 365 tools.
What you can do in Planner
- Set start and due dates and assign tasks to team members
- Track progress, including through progress reports
- Add checklists to keep track of each stage of a project
- Attach files, photos or links to a task
- Add comments to talk things through with your team
- Set up notifications so you know when a task is due or someone has commented
- See only the tasks assigned to you in "My Tasks", "My Day" or "To Do"
Getting started
You can open Planner from the app launcher in Microsoft 365, or go straight to Planner in your browser.
The Using Planner to manage your tasks guidance on Learning Pathways explains how to start using it. Learning Pathways is our online learning platform for Microsoft 365 tools, with how-to guides, hints and tips.
