Professor Deborah Wilson will become the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences from 1 October 2022, following approval by Council.

Professor Wilson is currently Professor of Public Policy and Management in the School of Management at the University of Bristol and Deputy Dean of Bristol’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Law.

Professor Ian White, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bath, said: “I am very pleased to announce that Professor Wilson will be joining Bath as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences from October. My warmest congratulations to her on this appointment.

Professor Deborah Wilson said:

Deborah held lectureships in Economics both here at the University of Bath and at the University of Bristol earlier in her career. She went on to become Deputy Director of the ESRC Public Services Programme, University of Oxford, from 2007 until 2010. She was also Deputy Director of the ESRC Centre for Market and Public Organisation from 2011 until 2014 as well as being the inaugural Director for PolicyBristol. Prior to taking up the role of Deputy Dean last August, Deborah was the Faculty Research Director from 2017-2021.
