The University is delighted to invite members of its community to nominate outstanding individuals for preliminary consideration for a UK National Honour. National Honours, awarded by the UK Government, recognise those who have made an exceptional contribution to society through sustained achievement or service that goes significantly beyond what might ordinarily be expected.

Preliminary nominations are reviewed by the University’s Honorary Degrees Committee, which will determine which candidates the University will support for formal submission to the Cabinet Office.

The Committee warmly welcomes nominations from University staff, students, and alumni for individuals connected to the University of Bath whose achievements and dedication warrant national recognition.

The deadline for submissions ahead of the next meeting of the Committee is Friday 20 February 2026.
