Dear colleague,
Given the challenges we face with coronavirus, it is easy to overlook the fact that we have just come to the end of a period at the University during which many UCU members have been taking strike action.
I appreciate that this has been a challenging time for those on strike, and those who were not, and we are all grateful for how the University community has come together to support each other and students over this period.
The disputes on pensions, pay and terms and conditions are ongoing, and we continue to do all we can to help resolve those disputes.
Later this week there will be an update on all of these issues jointly from the University and UCU, clarifying the progress we are making locally and our position on the issues which can only be resolved nationally.
