Preparations will start on site for the next phase of works on Monday 7 October.
The enabling works completed in September. These included the main excavation for the basement levels, which will house the main plant rooms and conference/lecture theatres.
Cabins will be delivered along with other equipment to create a site compound from which the works will be directed, with earth movement to create a base for the compound.
Deliveries will be timed to avoid peak campus travel times.
This is an important step in the project as the infrastructure is put in place before the main construction phase, which starts with the assembly of the building’s frame.
