Semester 1 Online Unit Evaluations are now open until Sunday 14 December 2025 at midnight. The University is asking students to complete unit evaluations about their course.

Online Unit Evaluations (OUEs) gives students the chance to share constructive, anonymous feedback on teaching, learning, and assessment for each of their units. Your communication with students is key to encouraging high participation and making this feedback meaningful.

Help promote OUEs to students:

  • encourage completion of OUEs by reminding students during teaching sessions and via email or other communication channels.
  • highlight the value of anonymous, constructive feedback in improving teaching and learning.
  • there are resources available to promote OUEs

Highlight the importance of constructive feedback:

  • remind students they have the opportunity to provide valuable feedback about programme curricula, teaching and assessment.

  • reassure students that their responses to unit evaluations will be anonymised

  • direct your students to our webpages for students about unit evaluations so that they can find information about completing the unit evaluation. They can also find information about the student prize draw.

Why OUEs are important:

  • OUE data is shared with Staff / Student Liaison Committees (SSLCs), teaching staff, Directors of Studies, departments and the University’s Education, Quality and Standards Committee to support ongoing enhancement of learning, teaching, curricula and assessment.
  • data from unit evaluations also helps to inform the Academic Staff Committee about probation and promotion of teaching staff.

Your role is crucial: please remind and support your students to complete their OUEs - every response helps improve units, teaching, and the overall student experience.
