The University is pleased to offer the Class of 2021 a bespoke programme of skills support and careers advice to help them enter the current challenging job market.

Organised by the Careers Service and Skills Centre in collaboration with Student Services and Development & Alumni Relations, the Stay Connected programme will run from 7-10 June 2021 for completing Undergraduate students and will be repeated in the autumn for completing PGT students. A similar programme was offered last year for the Class of 2020.

The Class of 2021 have experienced a challenging final year as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and are set to face an uncertain and highly competitive job market. Our Stay Connected programme aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need as they plan the next chapter of their lives.” - Dr Cassie Wilson, Vice-President (Student Experience)

Programme

Stay Connected aims to:

  • provide an update on the current graduate job market and explore what employability means in a post-Covid world of work
  • increase students’ confidence in writing effective job applications and approaching different selection processes
  • help them to develop a personal career action plan and strategies to build resilience
  • introduce them to Bath’s global alumni network and how this can support their career
  • prepare them for Postgraduate study, if that’s their next step.

The programme will offer a combination of engaging online and on-demand sessions during the week. Students will also have the opportunity to opt in to receive useful resources and graduate vacancies by email.

They can register here to opt in to our weekly emails and to view the Stay Connected programme of events.

Moving to Postgraduate study

For students planning to continue their studies at Postgraduate level, self-access UG to PGT modules are available to guide them through the differences between Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and help them develop the key academic skills required at this level.

Postgraduate Progression Award

The Postgraduate Progression Award is once again available to provide further support to this year’s graduates. Students who graduated in December 2020 or July 2021 who are considering PGT study at Bath in the 2021/22 academic year may be eligible for a 20% discount off postgraduate tuition fees.

How to take part

Stay Connected is open to all completing students. Please bring the programme to your students’ attention and encourage them to register here to opt in to our weekly emails and to view the Stay Connected programme of events.

Remember too that completing students can continue to use Student Services’ Be Well - Talk Now and Wellbeing Service until the end of August. The Office for Students also provides a list of useful 'Look after yourself' wellbeing links.

They also have life-time access to the Careers Service. This includes appointments with Careers Advisers and access to careers information, resources and graduate vacancy listings in MyFuture.

In addition, the Class of 2021 will join a global network of over 125,000 alumni. Through Bath Connection, the University’s e-networking programme, they can seek advice, guidance and support from Bath alumni working in a range of industries around the world.
