“We have been able to allocate the vast majority of our new students permanent university accommodation for their first year. However, we have had to allocate 12 students temporary accommodation within two miles of the University for between two and four weeks. We are already beginning to offer them permanent rooms as they become available.
“We fully understand that the first few weeks at university is a very important time for all our new students and we are sorry for this inconvenience. To help these students settle into our university community we have given them free temporary accommodation in individual rooms, £70 per week food credit and free bus passes worth £329 as well as advice and practical support.”
