The programme of Summer Priority Restarts has made good progress since our last update in July.

The vast majority of laboratories in the Faculty of Science have now restarted and the Faculty of Engineering & Design is not far behind with 58 individual labs either restarted or having approval to restart from 17 August 2020, and only a few left to go.

In total, 1,165 people are signed off to return to campus, including 422 postgraduate research students.

The process for authorising the restart of research projects involving human participants is now agreed and we are expecting risk assessment documentation to start coming forward shortly for consideration by the Summer Priority Restarts Group.

Research and teaching activity is now supported by the ‘Click & Collect’ and ‘Scan & Send’ services offered by the Library.

A key activity returning to campus this week was Confirmation & Clearing, with our undergraduate recruitment and admissions teams supported by a number of student ambassadors.

The activity in the Sports Training Village has also been scaling up in recent weeks, with both the gym and swimming pool now open. Staff and students can book activities online.
